Under Centre of Excellence scheme the Information Technology Sector at ITI Nagaon providing multi skill training to meet the skill requirement of Information Technology of various industry & company with their active involvement in all aspects of training. The training will be provided in three parts as given below:
1. Training in Basic skill areas for a period of one year.
2. Training in Advanced modules for next six months.
The testing & certification for the Basic skill training during first year & also for Advanced training during next six months will be conducted by NCVT.
3. Training in specialized modules mainly in the industry (The course curricula, duration etc will be designed in consultations with the IMC / local industry. The trade testing & certification for this component will be done jointly by the State Government & Industry. Said certificate will be recognized by NCVT.

The training programme will have multi-entry and multi-exit provisions:
* Trainee can opt to go to the labour market after completing Broad Based Basic Training of one year duration as well as after completing 1½ year of training.
* Trainee can join training any time for Advanced / Specialised training in another module of same sector.
* ITI pass out trainee of the particular trade(s) from the conventional system can seek admission for Advanced / Specialised training in relevant sector.
In first year, curricula in the Area / Sector of ‘IT Sector’, uniform rotation for eight weeks each in the Basic Modules as mentioned below will be taken up.

Name of Trade :- Information Technology (Broad Base Basic Training)
Duration :- One year.
Eligibility :- 10th pass under 10+2 system with Science.
Batch size :- 126 trainees 21 in each module (Rotation basis among six modules)
Admission :- For basic training, admissions are made for the session starting from August each year.
Fee Structure :- Fee Structure is decided by States Govt. in consultation with IMCs.
Space :- Workshop / Computer Lab / theory class rooms are accommodated in IT Sector which is a separate building of ITI Nagaon with wide open space.

Name of Trade :- Information Technology (Advanced Module)
Duration:- Six Months.
Eligibility :- Given below in the table.
Batch size :- 21 trainees in each module.
Admission :- Admissions are made for the session starting from February each year.
Fee Structure :- Fee Structure is decided by States Govt. in consultation with IMCs.
Space :- Workshop / Computer Lab / theory class rooms are accommodated in IT Sector which is a separate building of ITI Nagaon with wide open space.

Provisions for Training in Advanced modules as per guidelines.
* Three modules are available as needed , so as to ensure that all the pass out trainees of BBBT are accommodated in the three modules may be selected in consultation with IMC for which in two shifts.
* If it is felt that available modules for which the course curricula has been developed at National Level are not sufficient to cater to the needs of local industry in the state, State is free to select module as per need in consultation with industry. State may develop suitable module(s) accordingly in consultations with the industry clearly indicating tool & equipment list, instructor qualifications, space norms etc. & forward the same to DGE&T for seeking approval of NCVT.
* A trainee at a time can opt. only for one Advanced Module.
* Admission Criteria, of the various modules of “IT Sector(Advanced Modules) are given below. There is a provision for lateral entry for graduates of ITIs (NTC /NAC passed outs from conventional system ) of the related trades subject to availability of seats in Advanced Module. Trades of conventional system mentioned against each advanced module in the enclosed statement, could be offered admission in Advanced Module.
